ABOUT US
In this day and age, it is more important than ever that children are able to pursue interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Robotics is a field that not only incorporates STEM concepts in an engaging way, but it also encourages perseverance, problem solving, and teamwork. TECH Robotics, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes STEM education across the Northshore and surrounding areas. We currently provide the opportunity for children to participate on robotics teams through FIRST. Per their website www.firstinspires.org, “The mission of FIRST® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.” You can learn more about the impact of FIRST® HERE!
Nearly 50 children have been introduced to robotics through participation on a TECH Robotics team, and we strive to continue growing this number. Our teams are affiliated with one of three FIRST programs.

FLL Explore is a program for elementary children that introduces them to STEM and robotics by building a motorized, large-scale LEGO model. Team members work together to identify problems and solutions related to the season’s theme and are introduced to computer programming.
Our current FLL Explore team: Cobots
Our retired FLL: Flying Ninjas

FLL Challenge encourages teams of elementary and middle school students to research and solve real-life problems through completion of an innovation project as well as design, build, and program an autonomous robot to complete game-specific missions.
Our current FLL Challenge team: Space Ninjas
Our retired FLL Challenge teams: Cyber Crocs and Code Wizards

FTC challenges teams of middle and high school students to design, build, and program a robot to solve game objectives with an alliance partner. FTC teams are also expected to engage in STEM-focused community outreach, manage the business and financial aspects of their team, and connect with and learn from STEM professionals.
Our current FTC team: Event Horizon
The team members strive to promote STEM education through community outreach and honor the FIRST Core Values in all they do.
